Are you looking for a way to help kids and families this holiday season?

Cleaning out the house to make way for new toys? The Farm Market collects gently used toys, clothes, household items, and non-expired nonperishable foods for The Fathers House, a charity/food pantry which is completely nonprofit and is based out of a church in Altoona. This organization takes your old stuff and distributes it for free to local folks in need. All you have to do is bring your clean items with you on your next visit to the Farm Market, and we’ll take care of the rest!

We went one night to check out what Father's House does. Here's how it works: They collect donations of food and goods, sort them, and set it all out on tables and racks in an area of the church. They also prepare boxes of donated food. People in the community who are in need then come and get a box of food and are welcome to take what they like from the clothes and household items.

*Donations accepted year-round. Find a collection box inside the front of the farm market. ALL items gladly accepted, but there is an extra special need for holiday decorations, toys, and winter clothing this time of year.

Where's the Farm Market's Big Sign?

Sign RemovedThe sign was temporarily removed in late October. It sure is strange not having it there. PennDOT and subcontractors will be moving electrical poles and cutting trees in preparation for mid-summer work in the creek. There will be new dikes put in the creek for erosion prevention. This will be prep work for a really fast 13 day ‘rapid bridge replacement,’ mid-July 2018! Stay tuned for updates.
